Elegance of Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly

Looking at Audrey Hepburn’s pictures, I always remember an elegant, beautiful, ethereal, royal posture, bambi eyes, a good actress, My fair lady -64, the voice she makes in the film when she speaks like a crowd, but learns the lady’s ways in speech and behavior. Breakfast at Tiffany’s -61 also comes to mind, as well as Beautiful Sabrina -54, and Alone in the Dark Horror/Crime movie from -67.

Audrey has a lot of the same sweetness and loftiness as Grace Kelly, who reminds me of exactly the same adjectives, as well as the princess she became, the Princess of Monaco. Grace reminds me of Rearwindow -54, one of Hitchcock’s best films, where Grace is good, and To catch a thief-55, which are indeed her latest films.

Portrait Gustav Klimt. Photographie. 1914.Portrait of Gustav Klimt. Photography by Trcka Josef Anton. 1914.

Gustav Klimt (1862–1918) oli itävaltalainen symbolistinen maalari, jonka työt tunnetaan erottuvasta tyylistä ja ekspressionistisista piirteistä. Hänen taiteensa keskittyy usein naisen kauneuteen ja symboliseen merkitykseen.

Klimtin töihin perustuvia elokuvia on tehty muutamia, joista yksi merkittävimmistä on “Woman in Gold” (2015), joka kertoo tarinan Klimtin kuuluisasta maalauksesta “Adele Bloch-Bauer I”.

Gustav Klimt (1862–1918) was an Austrian symbolist painter whose work is known for its distinctive style and expressionist features. Her art often focuses on female beauty and symbolic meaning.

A few films based on Klimt’s work have been made, one of the most notable being “Woman in Gold” (2015), which tells the story of Klimt’s famous painting “Adele Bloch-Bauer I”. The film follows the struggle for ownership of the painting and its return to its original owners, who lost it during the Nazi rise to power.

Klimt’s paintings, such as “The Kiss” and “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I”, are iconic works that combine symbols, gold and bold colors. His work has inspired many artists and filmmakers around the world.

Klimt’s art raises questions about identity, beauty, and symbolism, and his influence on art history and popular culture continues today.

Sixteen-year-old Sarah must solve a labyrinth to rescue her baby brother when he is taken by the Goblin King. Seems easy, but the labyrinth is moving and chancing, with traps and creatures. Good and bad of course. This movie is heart warming and witty. I’d like to have all the things I found in my pinterest ideas.

I usually already have, or would like to have everything my ideas are from.

The Pain and Success

Lapsena Frida sairasteli paljon.

Kahlo alkoi maalata toipilasaikanaan.

He rakastuivat ja menivät naimisiin vuonna 1929 siviiliseremoniassa.

Frida Kahlo from July 6, 1907 to July 13, 1954) was a Mexican painter. Kahlo painted paintings of pain, the dark side of death and life, but also paintings of really strong colors and beautiful nature. Gritty realistic self-portraits are also known around the world. Her style also had surreal influences.

As a child, Frida was sick a lot. She had a slit in his spine at birth and it caused deformities in her legs. At the age of six, she suffered from polio and became a bedridden patient after a long time. In 1922, at the age of fifteen, Kahlo entered high school at the Escuela Nacional Preparatoria, and she was one of its few girl students. Diego Riviera painted a mural for the school. Later, Kahlo’s paintings caught Rivera’s interest. In September 1925, Kahlo had a traffic accident where a bus and a tram collided. The bus crumpled under the tram. Her hips were pierced by a metal railing. She had to undergo 35 surgeries and the hospital stay was weeks. She was between life and death.

Kahlo started painting during her recovery. She said this in her diary: “I had never thought about painting before 1926 when I was lying in bed after a road accident. I was fucking bored in bed with my plaster corset, and I thought I had to do something. I plucked oil paints from my dad (…) and then started painting”.

After the accident, after being released from the hospital, Frida asked Diego Rivera for an honest opinion about her paintings. Rivera saw something special in them and encouraged her to continue and at the same time he was fascinated by Frida herself, and especially her eyebrows. “They looked like blackbird wings, and the dark arches framed two peculiarly brown eyes,” Rivera wrote in his autobiography.

They fell in love and married in 1929 in a civil ceremony.

Frida dreamed of children, but in 1932 she heard a miscarriage on the fourth, and it was not the only one, as she had three more miscarriages before having to give up her maternity dreams. The miscarriage ushered in his most powerful creative period. Frida Kahlo’s art tells about all physical and mental pain. She is the center of her works, with a few exceptions. Of her 143 paintings, 55 are self-portraits containing personal symbolism and illustrative depictions of the body.

In 1939, Frida became friends in Paris with Marcel Duchamp and Paclo Picasso. She painted Two Fridas In the late 1930’s, Kahlo’s friend Andre Breton arranged for his work to be exhibited in the USA and Europe. Frida’s husband cheated on her and divorced Frida because he couldn’t commit to one woman at a time. However, Frida and Diego realized that their shared love for art had created a bond that even side jumps could not break. Pairing was remarried in December 1940.

During these years, Frida had exhibitions in New York, Paris and Boston, and rave reviews of her work were written in art magazines.

rida Kahlo had unread relationships with both men and women. American dancer and singer Josephine Baker was one of them. It was rumored that she also had an affair with her friend Lev Trosk, a Russian revolutionary leader who was murdered by Stalin’s agents in Mexico City in 1940. Frida Kahlo took on the role of fighting revolutionaries, in addition to the roles of a suffering woman, an abandoned wife, a childless woman, and a seductive mistress.

In 1941, the Mexican government ordered a series of portraits of famous Mexican women from Frida, but she was unable to complete the order.

Frida had to undergo several more surgeries, e.g. due to complications in her back. Frida’s health worsened and she had to wear corsets because of her back. In 1944, a bone surgeon ordered her to be put to complete rest and put on a corset with steel springs. She couldn’t move properly without, and with corsets. Sitting and leaning back was impossible with a corset on her, but without a corset he couldn’t sit or walk either. In 1953, in the last major surgery, Kahlo had her right leg amputated above her knee. After that, she didn’t paint much anymore. The amputation of the leg caused her endless suffering and he wanted to die.

Frida Kahlo died in her bed at the age of 47 on July 13, 1954, officially of pneumonia, but it has also been claimed that she finally committed suicide. The last words of the diary are: “I hope the ending is pleasant and I hope I never come back.”

After her death, she outbid her husband Diego, as in 2019 her painting Diego and I was sold at auction for 30 million euros. Diego’s Los Rivales work was sold for “only” €10 million.

He jatkavat matkaa yhdessä ja yrittävät päästä linnaan, jossa Tumma kristalli on.

The Dark Crystal Creation Myths the Complete Collection: https://fi.pinterest.com/pin/653584964704114298

The Dark Crystal was a really important movie for me when I was young and still is. That world, that story and everything. As an adult, I have fallen in love with it again and again and have studied the making of the film and it has gained even more respect for the creators. At the time this film was being made in 1982, everything had to be done on a physical level, The dolls, the backgrounds, the whole world were made from the beginning, handcrafted and the ideas were implemented with mechanical dolls and using child actors, because the dolls were of course small in size, and the child could go “doll-like” lightly – but not too-in some scenes where a little sense of weight was needed, but mostly the characters in the film were moved like hand puppets.

In the story, Jen (gelfling) has to find a shard of dark crystal and return it back to the crystal. His gentle Ursek mentor dies and the evil version of the Skeksis from this creature dies in the process. More about this connection will be told during the trip, but Jen has no information about what will happen again. Jen goes on an adventure, finding Aughra, the mother of the world and the earth, so to speak, whose story is told in more detail in the books that tell the story of Aughra’s life from the beginning of time. Kira is a girl-gelfling like Jen has never seen before, and she brings Jen other surprises as the story progresses. They continue their journey together and try to get to the castle where the Dark Crystal is. Jen doesn’t know everything about the Gelfling story because everyone else in her species is dead and the mystics haven’t told her much. There are plenty of symbols in the movie and of course good and evil are present all the time. But also the idea that good and evil can also be together, not only as separate (beings).I like that the story is not just cute creatures and fairy-tale beauty, but dark and black and scary as a counterweight, because the skeks have destroyed other creatures for how long and misused the power of the dark crystal using the vitality of the creatures. It’s great how this film tells so multidimensionally about everything that seems to be happening in the world even today. Things intended to be good are misused to destroy, because energy can be used for good or evil. Without completely revealing the endings of the film, you can say that that side of the light comes out and the story says that even death can be overcome. Everything comes back together in the end, and the light wins. The whole story is visually spectacular, and the music is masterful (Trevor Jones) and of course Jim Henson and Frank Oz are master directors. Other stories related to the photo have taken over me so much that I wanted to get books related to this movie. The Netflix series Dark Crystal: The Time of Resistance must have been watching too and I liked it and the interesting story that creates it deeper, which is therefore set before the events of the Dark Crystal.

Ja täällä on sitten vielä jotain mitä minä haluaisin hankkia Dark Crystal maailmasta, here are som I’d like to have from the Dark Crystal World:

Some (little known) facts, and Marilyn and Vampira, Movies

In the hazy twilight of Hollywood’s golden age, there emerged a star who burned brighter and faster than any before him. James Dean wasn’t just an actor; he was a symbol of teenage rebellion, a brooding enigma who captured the hearts of audiences worldwide.

With his tousled hair and smoldering gaze, Dean brought a raw intensity to the screen that was unmatched. Whether he was tearing through the streets in “Rebel Without a Cause” or racing towards destiny in “East of Eden,” Dean’s performances were a testament to his unparalleled talent.

But it wasn’t just his acting that made James Dean an icon—it was his attitude. He lived life on the edge, defying convention at every turn. From his love of fast cars to his disdain for authority, Dean embodied the spirit of a generation searching for meaning in a world that seemed increasingly chaotic.

Tragically, Dean’s flame was extinguished far too soon, snuffed out in a fatal car crash at the tender age of 24. Yet, his legacy endures, a timeless reminder of the power of youth, rebellion, and the unyielding pursuit of authenticity.

As we look back on the life of James Dean, we’re reminded of the fleeting nature of fame and the enduring impact of those who dare to live life on their own terms. He may have been gone too soon, but his spirit lives on in every rebel with a cause, keeping the flame of defiance burning bright for generations to come.

He had problems with his family.
Dean was born on February 8, 1931, in Marion, Indiana. After becoming a dentist, Dean’s father Winton moved the family to Santa Monica, California, from farming. But the family fell apart after Dean’s mother passed away from cervical cancer when he was just 9 years old. The beginning of the father-son rift that would last for the rest of their lives occurred when his father sent him back to live on his aunt and uncle’s Quaker farm in Indiana.

He admired Marlon Brando.
Marlon Brando was another moody performer of the era whom Dean admired. The somewhat older Brando, who won an Oscar for On the Waterfront (1954), had great success as Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), his iconic part as a motorcycle gang leader in The Wild One (1953), while Dean was just starting out in Hollywood. Dean made an effort to get in touch with Brando and go out with him, but Brando turned down Dean’s advances. “He went after I gave him the name of a [psycho]analyst. Brando remarked, “At least his work improved.”

Dean enjoyed making magic tricks.
Dean enjoyed practicing magic tricks in his spare time, aside from acting and racing automobiles. Dean, a tobacco addict who was frequently pictured with a cigarette hanging from his mouth, gave his smoking habit a magical twist. He would light an unlit cigarette, insert a flame match into his mouth, and then take out a burning cigarette. Just another cause why Dean was so hot.

Dean and Marilyn Monroe

Did James Dean and Marilyn Monroe star in a movie together?

What movie did Marilyn Monroe and James Dean appear in ...

The only movie Marilyn Monroe and James Dean appeared in together (via archive footage) was called “Elvis: Return to Tupelo”, which wasn’t released until 2008, when both actors had long been deceased (Marilyn died in 1962 at age 36, while James died in 1955 at age 24).8.8.2015

It is told, that they had a brief acquaintance and maybe were romantic on some weekend at some cottage-or not. They seem to be rumours more than facts in the internet.

Dean and Vampira, Maila Nurmi

But the dating with a finnish actress Maila Nurmi, Vampira, was really a thing. He was mesmerized of her. They spent time together at Googies Coffee Shop on the corner of Crescent Heights and Sunset Blvd in Hollywood.

Talking about their bond, she said, “We have the same neuroses”.

This issue of the Scandal magazine Whisper was published in February 1956, a little more than four months after Dean’s tragic car accident. They said that Maila nNurmi was “Black Madonna” that many held responsible for Dean’s demise. BUT Vampira actress was not an active occult practitioner as it is told In a 1962 memoir with a chapter on Dean. Hedda Hopper said, “We talked about the slender-cheeked actress who goes by Vampira on TV. He declared: “I was curious to know if this girl was possessed by a demonic force because I had studied The Golden Bough and the Marquis de Sade.” She was completely ignorant. She seemed to me to be uninterested in everything save her Vampira makeup. She lacks absolutes.

Movies

Throughout his career, the young actor only appeared in three films: Rebel Without a Cause (1955), in which he played an angst-ridden adolescent, East of Eden (1955), in which he played the bad boy brother in a retelling of the story of Cain and Abel, and Giant (1956), in which he took on the role of a nonconformist ranch hand. Though only one of his films, East of Eden, was finished, all of them went on to become Hollywood masterpieces. Deans acting methods were somewhat annoying to some other actors who said why doesn’t he just state the lines. They didn’t understand what he was thriving for. But at the end, the cinema business was greatly influenced by James Dean’s distinctive acting style, method acting which was characterized by emotional vulnerability, naturalism, and a rebellious attitude.

The New York Times bestselling debut book of poetry from Lana Del Rey, Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass.Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass is the title poem of the book and the first poem I wrote of many. Some of which came to me in their entirety, which I dictated and then typed out, and some that I worked laboriously picking apart each word to make the perfect poem. They are eclectic and honest and not trying to be anything other than what they are and for that reason I’m proud of them, especially because the spirit in which they were written was very authentic.” —Lana Del Rey
